Clinical Psychologist

I am a bilingual Clinical Psychologist, with more than 13 years’ experience providing effective therapy in English and Spanish, for adults, children, and adolescents. I use different therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic therapy, in different backgrounds and settings, including the NHS. I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and, I am ending my training in Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT).

During my career I have gained experience working with people to overcome depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. I also have helped people who have experienced trauma, family problems, domestic violence, bereavement, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), behavioural problems, and attachment disorder.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

I am registered in the UK with the Health and Care Professional Council (Reg No. PYL35477), which means that I work within the ethical framework of this organization, and I am committed to continual professional development and have regular supervision to ensure that I provide excellence in my practice.

I completed my degree in Psychology with a pre specialization in Clinical Psychologist at “Universidad Arturo Michelena” (Arturo Michelena University) in Valencia, Venezuela in 2007. After that, I finished my training as a Clinical Psychologist in 2010 with the highest honour of my class at “Hospital Centro de Salud Mental del Este El Peñón” (Mental health centre Hospital “El Peñón”) in Caracas, Venezuela, where I was invited to join the group of professors. For 3 years I tough psychotherapy and supervised psychologists who were training as a clinical psychologist and medical doctors who were training as a psychiatrist. 

 

As part of my professional development, in 2009 I completed a Specialisation in Rorschach Psychodiagnostics with the “Asociación Argentina de Psicodiagnóstico de Rorschach” (Argentinean society of Rorschach’s Psychodiagnosis) and I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents which I did in 2012 at the “Sociedad Psicoanalítica de Caracas” (Psychoanalytical society of Caracas) which is part of the International Psychoanalytical Association.

I trained as EMDR therapist in 2021 in the UK and currently I am training as CAT (Cognitive analytical therapy) therapist whiting the NHS in London.
